Managing a loyalty program gets more complicated as more people have access to it.
A way to earn points gets updated. A reward changes. A redemption limit is added. Then a few weeks later, someone needs to know what the previous settings were, when they changed, and who made the change.
Perkville’s new Loyalty Program History gives administrators a record of changes made to loyalty program rules, including ways customers can earn and redeem.
You can review the history of a specific rule or look across your entire loyalty program.
This can be useful for larger enterprises and franchise organizations where many administrators may have access to make changes. Instead of relying on internal notes or someone remembering what happened, teams can refer back to a shared record of program changes.
Perkville now records changes to loyalty program rules, including when a rule is created, updated, activated, deactivated, reactivated, or permanently deleted.
For each recorded change, administrators can see who made the change, when it happened, and the configuration details that changed.
For example, if someone changes how many points customers earn for an activity or adds a redemption limit to a reward, the history can show the change along with the person who made it and the date.
Tracking for this feature began this week. Changes will be recorded from this point forward, so Loyalty Program History will not include changes made before tracking began.
Administrators can select View program history from the Loyalty Program page to review changes across their ways to earn and redeem in one place.
The history can be filtered by the specific rule, person who made the change, change type, rule type, activity type, and date range. Results can also be exported to CSV.
If you only need to investigate one way to earn or redeem, you can open that rule and select View perk history to see its changes.
This gives teams a faster way to answer questions about when a setting changed, who changed it, and what the configuration looked like before and after the update.
Imagine a franchise notices an unexpected increase in points being awarded across several locations. A way to earn that was supposed to award 50 points is now awarding 500 points.
With Loyalty Program History, an administrator can see when the rule changed, what the previous value was, and who made the change. That makes it much easier to determine which transactions may have been affected and what needs to be corrected.
This can shorten investigations and make it easier to give customers and internal teams a quick answer.
For a small business with one or two administrators, it may be easy to remember who changed a loyalty program setting and why.
That gets harder as an organization grows.
Large enterprises and franchise businesses may have corporate administrators, regional teams and individual franchise owners with access to the loyalty program. The person investigating a question months later may have had nothing to do with the original change.
Loyalty Program History gives those teams a shared record inside Perkville so they can see how ways to earn and redeem have changed over time.
It can also help organizations maintain greater consistency as more people become involved in managing the program across locations.
And as a reminder, you can limit what staff members can change by role and location.
To review an individual way to earn or redeem, open Loyalty Program, select the rule, and click View perk history in the upper right of the edit page.
To review changes across the entire program, open Loyalty Program and click View program history.
From the program history page, you can apply filters or export the results as a CSV.
Loyalty Program History is available now in Perkville. Tracking began this week, so the history will build over time as new changes are made.
